Our History

One night while scrolling through Facebook, I saw a post about a dog in a shelter in New York City, she was a shelter favorite and out of time. She had been used for breeding and when she no longer served a purpose she was dumped by her owners. The post was begging for someone to foster or adopt her. Something in that girls eyes spoke to me & I reached out to the rescue. Several days later she arrived at our home in Massachusetts and thus began our journey into rescue.  While fostering  for that rescue we realized that we wanted to do more to help and began to research what it would take to start our own rescue. We moved to South Carolina in 2014 where we saw an even greater need, particularly for Pit Bulls.  Pibbles & Bits was officially incorporated in November of 2015 and became an official non-profit 501C3 Rescue in March of 2016.

Pictured above is Laila that dog from New York City whose eyes spoke to me that night, in her forever home. Laila or Ms. Brown Dog as she was affectionately referred to by her adoptive mom Michelle was loved & adored until she passed away late in 2018 from a tumor.  RIP sweet girl.  We are forever grateful for the impact you had on all of us.

Pit Bulls Are Our Mission

We are a non-profit, no kill all volunteer dog rescue. We are a 501C3 organization dedicated to Pit Bulls & Pit Bull Mixes. We are located in upstate South Carolina.  Our Motto is

Rescue, Rehabilitate, Advocate, Educate.

We emphasize the importance of spaying & microchipping, vaccinations, regular veterinary care, heartworm, flea & tick preventative, proper nutrition, socialization, training & exercise. We believe we can save more lives of pit bulls through education and awareness.
